I finally decided to purchase a Prepaid T-Mobile SIM card for my VZW Note 7. I can make and receive calls as well as send and receive texts just fine. I really haven't paid much attention to whether that's because I'm mostly on WiFi or not. A few things that I have realized is that I cannot send or receive MMS texts. I tried switching it from WiFi to Data, which is what I used to do when I was on VZW, but it still does not work. What am I doing wrong and is anyone else having this problem with the switch from VZW to T-Mobile? FYI- I have a 1st generation Note 7 with the white battery (still at 100%) and the 1st version of The Shield is still going strong. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Good evening Note 7 Alliance members,
I finally decided to purchase a Prepaid T-Mobile SIM card for my VZW Note 7. I can make and receive calls as well as send and receive texts just fine. It sounds like you don't have the correct APN settings on your phone. try this:

Unpack the downloaded zip-file, look for T-Mobile MMS in the unpacked.
Then go to settings - connections - apn in your phone settings.
Look for T-Mobile MMS there and edit according to the content in the unpacked xml file.
If there is no apn for T-Mobile MMS add one and make the settings as above.

Not sure if you figured this out but I found the below and changed one thing without doing the APN XML file.
APN & data settings
From any home screen, pull down screen and tap Settings icon.
Tap Mobile networks > Access Point Names.
If available, tap the T-Mobile US APN (the bullet point fills with green). If not available, tap Menu > New APN.
And update the following settings for the Data APN:
Name: T-Mobile US LTE
APN: fast.t-mobile.com
Proxy: <Not set>
Port: <Not set>
Username: <Not set>
Password: <Not set>
Server: <Not set>
MMSC: http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc
MMS proxy: <Not set>
MMS port: <Not set>
MCC: 310
MNC: 260
Authentication type: <Not set>
APN type: DELETE ANY WORDS HERE AND TAP OK IT WILL THEN READ <Not set> THIS LINE READ DEFAULT BEFORE AND DID NOT WORK.
APN protocol: IPv4/IPv6
APN roaming protocol: IPv4
Enable/disable APN: <greyed out unless there are multiple APNs>
Bearer: Unspecified
Tap Menu > Save.
Tap the desired APN profile you want to use. The bullet point fills with green next to the APN profile
