Hello to the Alliance. First of all I hope this is the right place to post my issue. I am brand new to the Alliancex app. I have had my Verizon Note 7 since three weeks after it first came out. Regretfully I accepted an iPhone as a replacement and now the iPhone has run it's course. I called Verizon and they will not activate it, period. However, It appears I can activate the Note through Straight Talk as a few others here have as well. I have just finished installing Alliancex on my Verizon Note 7. Everything seem to go well until the notification center says; "Not protected" and ''Alliance Shield X won't run unless you update Google Play Services". In addition, Security policy wants to update as well. Since Security policy was disabled during the setup, should I let either one or both of these update? I assume updating applications running on the platform is necessary while Alliancex prevents updates to the OS? Is this correct? Thank you in advance for any and all help. I look forward to becoming a contributing member here.
Update: I went ahead and allowed the update of Google Play Services and Alliance now shows Shields Up. Should I do the same for Security Updates? Thank you all in advance for any help rendered.

Yes, security policy and letting apps update are fine. It uses a newer version of Google Play and that is where the error message comes from. Make sure the shield is on or you run the risk of getting the update.
As far as verizon, they won't activate it. Almost every other carrier will let you activate it.

Thank you for your reply. Update: I set the phone up with Straight Talk Wireless using their SIM card on the Verizon towers. At present I can make phone calls but can not receive them. Callers report a busy signal. Any thoughts on this? Could it be related to Shield at all?

Can't imagine that the active shield rejects incoming calls, since it just blocks the updates (assuming you don't choose the shield's package manager to block other packages). But since I'm from Europe, idk which special effects a Verizon device can cause...
A possible workaround could be like this: Try to make a permanent call redirection for incoming calls to another line. If this works, setup a new VOIP line. Most of them are free at least for monthly fees and incomimg calls. Then install/setup a VOIP client app at your phone and make the permanent call redirection to the new VOIP line. Since it's similar to a landline, the redirected calls should be free of charge if you're on a flatrate. And the data usage for VOIP is not that huge that it would blast your data plan.

I tried to login to Alliance shield and failed. The system notices "update to newer, try again E26". After I use the updated fix, the system says "Error with logon. try again E8". Can someone help me, thanks.

With this error code, does it show at the bottom of the screen: Work offline? If yes, try to tap on Enable.

Yes, you don't have access to Play Store app in VN.
You can try to use this version: https://shieldx.alliancex.org/shieldx_install.apk
In order to install, you first have to uninstall the current one. Go to settings of the device, look for the admin apps, disable the one named: 'Enable Device Admin'. Then you can uninstall the current app, and install the version in the link above.
