So, I hard bricked my note 7 after experimenting with com ports (im still pretty new) for qualcomm and learned of the amazing ability of QFIL flash techniques and the possibility to unbrick the N7's under extreme data loss conditions. As such i thought it a good time to reach out to get my phone up and running and create a good log of what i did and possibly help someone in the process.

Im at a standstill, because i didnt know the backup from smartswitch and kies was a joke and require files needed to QFIL flash the device a working bootloader. I dont wanna assume this could be carried out as a means of knocking back to previous (maybe even pre-recall) versions of the firmware but maybe even allow ability to root, and quite seriously, make alot of people poop their pants. Its a scary thought, and daunting to say the least but eh, im trying here.

Only way i would know how to do a thing is to make a backup.img file and dissect it looking for a certain firehose.mbn, XML programmer file and the raw data?.

help

If it is bad enough where you need a backup img. That may be the tricky part because you need root access on another phone. And I'm not sure how many people here have a rooted Qualcomm note. I'm sure there may be some though.

Just to clarify, when you say you need root access on another phone, do you mean another note 7 or just another rooted qualcomm note, ie a previous gen note?

So i figured i would bring the firmware to a base version like you could do with the s3, by removing all and any firmware remnants of my current build: APHE so if i could remove all and reflash while still in bootloader then i may be able to find way to root post recall devices in us. But i f&^%$^%$ up when i rebooted and lost dl mode and ability to enter into dl mode or recovery with key commands. dont think a jig would help either bc theres no bl to load up.. maybe a backup but my knowledge of what happened is counter-intuitive to a jigs purpose.

So the only way to bring it back would be to use a program that qualcomm recommends for emergency recovery called QFIL, included in their QPST development package. At this point i can install any and all firmware versions of the note 7 :)

Port is open, ready to be flashed without jtag or box, just need Firehose.mbn, xml programmer, and raw data to restore BL functionality.

root access is not required, there is not a lick of firmware on my device. EFS gone, BL gone, even the dam preloader is gone lol. It was close, but i was a retart and rebooted when i should have stayed in DL mode.

also i may be able to use QCN files to restore via a QPST extension called download firmware. It will push the FW to the device in the form of .qcn file and restore functionality of my bootloader so i can put it into dl mode once again.

Welp, my research is concluded. Lack of support and resources made it impossible. Walmart traded my note 7 i bought from verizon for another VZW S7E UD. Guess i got lucky. Hope the best for you guys. Let me know if anyone wants to continue research in this development section.
