Hello all and thanks in advance you your help. Ill try and keep this short.

I'm on T-Mobile I got the update to kill the note. While I was asleep I accidentally pressed update and now my note 7. I rushed to try and download a custom rom and root on XDA well you guys know how that turned out that was before a friend recommended me to this site. Now my N7 has charge and I'm at the bootloader. I've done all the steps and downloaded the correct software as in tutorial link by catwoman. I even watched the video tutorial. Currently the situation is Smart Switch says my device is unsupported. I remind you that all the previous software has been wiped and the cash removed from my N7. Odin does recognize my phone at the Com Ports though, and when trying to install the stock firmware it fails. The only problem is with the smart switch application she recommended for download. I downloaded it and ran the app like suggested. It said that the my device is unsupported by smart switch. I came to the conclusion that this is the way I should have started vs wiping everything which is the reason I'm stuck at the boot loader because there is no data on my phone. Here are the steps I took to get past this problem.

1. Reinstalled Smart Switch, but after the reinstall no success.
2. I reopened Smart Switch and clicked the tab that says "MORE" then on Emergency Software & instillation. I followed the steps which included imputing my device model number and S/N. I Did that but my device is still reading as a unsupported device on smart switch. My question is if Oden is recognizing my phone and I can flash the software do I need smart switch since technically I'm not backing up anything.

Lastly when I press Power, Home and Up It takes me to a command screen which has an option to mount software from SD card. has anyone tried this? Anyway lemmie know because I'm trying to get this 800 dollar paper weight back working. thanks guys

No it didn't install just fail after fail. I'm still waiting on word from moderators or admin if I should install directly from the SD card. I realize now that the problem isn't the software or firmware its Samsung. If you install the death firmware as I did you cannot flash anything. Until we users can wipe out phones completely meaning that we have root access then we possibly cant flash any backwards firmware. At least that's the case for now.

You probably don't want to install what is on the SD card in case that is the updated (Note killer) firmware that is somehow backed up on to there, or perhaps there is nothing on there, it is just giving you that option. It is also possible that what it is referring to on the SD card is just a "backup" which may not include firmware (but somebody smarter needs to answer that one)

I'm guessing that the update was designed to block using Odin, etc.

But going back further, I don't think you need Smart Switch, you just need to flash ROMs. Like you said, you probably have not actually "wiped" the device, only reset it with old firmware on there.

Maybe you can take advantage of this SD card option by mounting the SD card on your computer and putting the old ROMs on it. Then if you could actually wipe the phone, when you go to reboot it, use that SD card option.

I know people have rooted N7's. Did you say you tried that?

I had the same issue; what resolved it was; first uninstalling smart switch; restarted computer; downloaded smart switch new and installed; restarted computer after reinstall; and it worked like a charm.

Thanks guys Ill try everything suggested. Ill get back with you guys tonight to post how It goes. But my phone is on 0 percent because I didn't flash before the update which currently to my understanding cant be flashed for now because the brick update sent by Samsung wont allow users to flash. I think catwoman and staff are currently working on this issue. I cant say how far along they are or whatever I just know from reading through every related post
