So I originally had package disabler pro (v 6.3) as my blocking app until I heard about the N7A, once the Alliance Shield was released I added it but didn't remove PDP due to my extreme paranoia that my phone would still get bricked without it. Well today I got some new Samsung headphones that requires use of the Samsung Gear app but I believe I disabled it with PDP so I went to the app to enable it and was met with this screen

Now I'm freaking out because even though I have the shield PDP is blocking the updates so I'm worried if I uninstall it I will get the updates. Anyone have any suggestions for me? Thanks!

First of all, don't try to uninstall the shield v1, as you can't get it activated later again.

If your shield v1 is open, there is a standard package disabler inside. To manage packages, tap on the 3 dots in the upper right, then tap package management.
Here you should find the gear and activate it. If you don't find it, this can be the result of pdp installed and gear blocked (hidden) with pdp.

The pdp will continue to block the formerly blocked packages, even if the license fails.
If you uninstall the pdp, you could use the shield as a normal package disabler (and enable gear), but if you choose to do so, be careful:
To be safe, disable mobile data and wifi first, before you proceed to uninstall pdp.
There are different reports from ppl. some said while uninstalling pdp all apps / packages were enabled, other reported they won't.
Maybe it differs depending on carrier firmware or other installed blocking apps.
After uninstalling pdp make sure the update packages for your carrier being disabled by the shield. If so, you can re-enable mobile data / wifi again.
