Samsung KILLING the Wi-Fi and Blutooth on Canadian Note 7 on Dec 12 and bricking on 15th !! Some questions...

Hello.

I just followed the instructions and reverted the 60% battery using the Odin Flash process here:

http://note7alliance.com/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=6

I then followed the guide to block 60% update using the second "T-Mobile + Sprint + International Carriers" methond here:

http://note7alliance.com/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=30

From those 3:
-Go to System---> priv-app---> SOAgent---> click on the file SOAgent.apk and open file using "Package Installer"
-Go to System---> priv-app---> FotaAgent---> click on the file FotaAgent.apk and open file using "Package Installer"
-Go to System---> priv-app---> wssyncmldm---> click on the file wssyncmldm.apk and open file using "Package Installer"

The last one wasn't there in Solid Explorer. I just installed the first 2.

My Questions:

1) Is my Note 7 now safe from the Wifi / Bluetooth killing update that is to come ?

2) Should use an older version of package disabler just in case ?

3) Should I run the Note 7 Update Blocker just incase ?

4) If they don't brick my phone on the 15th but instead block the IMEI, is there any way to bypass it so I can still use it on the network ?

Thank you.

PS: This website is AMAZING. Very clear and detailed step by step instructions. Every other place including XDA is a sea of confusion. Reddit on the other hand is nothing but haters spewing "return it". Glad to see some like minded Note 7 owners still exist !

I am glad we were able to help you out and that you are enjoying the site. Please recommend more people and become an active member. We do this bc we enjoy guiding people and we know there is a need to help. We will also provide support when the Note 8 comes out. :)

1) Your phone is not safe the Wifi / Bluetooth killing. It is only safe from getting the 60% battery firmware.
2) You can use a package disabler however, you can only use it to remove bloat ware so that you can increase the performance of your device. You can currently only use the latest version of a package disabler. you cannot use a pervious version anymore bc it was blocked from the Google paly store.
3) If the Solid Explorer worked for your phone, then that means your phone is not compatible with the Note 7 Update Blocker.
4) They can't brink your phone bc your phone is protected. They can no longer push updates to your phone. The next thing they are working on is blocking IMEIs. We are working on a workaround for that. Stay tuned. :geek:

Hi THS. Thank you for becoming a member.

We're currently working on an IMEI carrier work around for unrooted snapdragon devices. We are testing to see if it will actually work.

Fingers crossed.

I'm not really concerned about the IMEI block that much. Can always use another phone. More concerned about the WiFi being disabled because then it will basically become a brick.
