Possible method to get Verizon to end the hotlining!

I have a way to get Verizon to stop the hotlining. If for some reason, the Note 7 hotline starts affecting unintended devices (S7s, S7 Edges, Pixels, Pixel XLs -- any device that can be rooted) they'll end up having no choice BUT to stop using the hotlining system altogether. So, those of you who have ROOTED devices still on Verizon, set your device's model # in build.prop to SM-930V. This way, when they hotline your device and you call in and say "This is not a Note 7, and you hotlined it" it'll cause a HUGE clusterfuck in their system. If anyone is brave enough to attempt this, please do, it would help us screw verizon over.

I am going to do this to my S7 Active. I don't have Verizon but it is worth annoying them.

I'm entirely willing to do this with my non note devices. Ill update if they're hotlined. One caveat, I think they are hotlining based upon IMEI info and not device data from a buildprop, IMEI shows the brand and model encrypted if I'm not mistaken.

The other device I have is a Note 3 and it's not activated. So sorry. Please keep us updated as to whether or not that works.

they hotlined my S6 Edge +. (!) They had it showing, somehow, as the Note 7. I asked them, "what are you going to do next? Hotline my husband's phone, because he's on the same account? He's a police officer, and if you hotline HIS phone, the consequences could be terrible... We change phones sometimes, too."
I will see... I've only been hotlined once, just this week. I'm back on with the S6 Edge +

, so help me... if they hotline my husband's phone by mistake, and something happens? I'll own a BIG chunk of Verizon, and buy everyone on this forum a Note 8! and maybe a Ferrari so you can text and drive at the same time.

I wish i could just call cust service and get crazy with them, since i work as a rep i get routed directly to employee support. Yelling at them to reconnect my note 7 could cause more harm than good for me :/

Interesting idea, but it hasn't stopped the hotlining yet. I swapped my SIM into my Note 7...suspended me immediately.

I was using my Note 7 up until 3 days ago when I hit the death update. Until that time, I had no problems with hotlining. I can still use it if it's plugged in but it s down to 41% battery so I've been keeping it off. My situation may be slightly unique as to why I may not have been hotlined.
I wonder if anyone has a workaround for those of you that have gotten hotlined. Is there any way to change the imei in rooting or otherwise?

@Chris0626 So verizon never hotlined you? but you were hit with the kill update? were you running the shield or how have you avoided the kill update until now? did the kill update just do it randomly or what happened? Also, how is your situation unique? Thanks!

@LouVizz so you are a verizon rep as well? has your N7 been working for you or when were hotlined? or did you get it all working? Thanks! Hope it's still working.
