[CLOSED] Update notifications & death update

Hi,
I am new to the N7 Alliance. I have been getting the prompts to update to the 60% battery limit update on my phone, but have so far avoided updating. Is there any way I can remove the notifications and prompts as well as the recall notifications so it doesn't accidentally or automatically update? And hopefully as free as possible! :)

Also, been hearing about this "death update". Any way to protect from that update so I dont have to worry about it? I am worried I will lose my stuff with any preventative measures I try to take, too.
Also not sure how Samsung can justify killing everyone's devices willy nilly, making over 300,000 people lose everything precious stored on their phones! Pretty sleazy of them, I'd say

Ok, I have not downloaded the update as of yet. So I'm still at 100%.
I am also worried about the news of this death update. Anyway to prevent that and will we lose everything that is on our phones from it?
Thanks for the info and quick responses!

Okay, so if the Note 7 wont charge after the update, how do we skirt that or get around it, or can we?

Hello everyone...Happy to join the group. (So long as I'm not prompted by a "suggested" donation of $20 or more to get a timely response to a question...wtf??) lol. Anyhow...I'm new to the group & really a lay person when it comes to cell pone tech. I'd really just like to get a grip on all that's happening & what it means. & what my appropriate response(s) should be. The Note 7 is my first Samsung device. & it is a pleasure to use. I would love to keep it until the new note is released. Is there a checklist of steps to take to ensure that is poss? I would like to get the most out of the device. This feels more complicated than it should be to me. I am somewhat confused w/ all the info & actions being tossed around.

So far...
* I have never rooted or flashed anything in my life

*I have not downloaded any updates besides the green battery bar update. I am at 100% battery life.

* What is the death update being advertised supposed to do? Is it just an update push or something more?

* Do I need to install a blocker to my device?

* Will I be forced to turn a non-functioning mobile device in to Best Buy?

* Is there anything in particular I need to do just in case?

* I'm a US Sprint client...So what's my time-table to do x-y-or z action step.

* An action item checklist would be helpful. So I know I'm up to speed. (I've been searching around forums all night & my understanding feels choppy at best.)

-I hope this isn't too exhaustive thank you for all of your expertise.
