Note 7 - Google Assistant

Hello,
Does anyone know if there is a way to install Google Assistant to a Note 7 Unit?..I tried all the tricks posted out there but no assistant yet....I assume n& is on a sort of marshmallow or pre Nougat but not sure if Google assistant will be available
Does anyone know?

All I had to do to begin the installation on my Verizon-branded Note 7 was hold down the home button... every once in awhile, life really is that simple... but not often! Just for giggles, if you haven't already, try it and see @Sly27
If not, what exactly did you try?

Well I did try that...still nothing just the usual screen without the Google voice prompt and all the nice things of the new google assistant...(that that enables ok google even with the screen locked) wish i could attache a jpg here....don't know how....
But no Google Asistant yet

Yes, I do know what you mean - the full blown assistant that can ask you questions about setting reminders, etc., not just a normal Google voice search. The difference is that it is interactive to a degree; like when I tell it to set a reminder, it asks me what about, and when to set it, for example.
Just for fun... have you tried going to the playstore and updating Google App? (I'm assuming you have Shield or some other form of protection...)
What model Note 7 do you have? Are you at 100%? Give more detail, please @Sly27

I have the ATT model..of course i have the shield ...version 1...is up for a long time.... Actually my first protection before the shield was an ADB script...I am at 100% no worries there ...Shield icon tells me is up...(version 1. - 5.7 me think) I will go to playstore and see if there is any success updating the google app/ yup no update....for version 4.4 installed....also Crotana installed but not google allo (which i believe is different from Google assistant)

My crystal ball is in the shop right now...
But, just for giggles, and it won't take but just a minute to try... disable your Google app >> say yes to installing the factory version >> reboot your phone >> re-enable the Google App >> update the Google App
Then see if that makes any difference...? If not, I'm going to have to get some help; as for what I'm reading, like you it seems that you should have it...

Lo and Behold....the last method DID work....well, scared me a bit at the beginning because the OK google widget kinda disappeared...but then went to pay store there was an update...did that ..found the widget in widget store...pressed the famed button again (oh before that i selected OK google instead of Crotana) and yes the assistant asked me for a training session...
So it finally worked...thank you so much for your help and tips...i owe you one....
Now if i only knew why my S7E the 935U doesn't receive the nougat....I would be truly happy...Thank you
PS: I will make sure i send you a crystal ball as a gift on the first occasion , so you remember me...

Glad it's working for you...
However, on 2nd thought, I better pass on the crystal ball... it might get me in trouble with the Big Man upstairs...
