Just Curious, what is the reasoning behind beta testers having pre-ordered the S8? In case they brick their N7 they have the S8 for backup, or is it to test Shield v3 on the S8?

There is some unique requirements to get the v3 method working. One is NFC provision on a fresh phone. (before the setup wizard is done)

The S8 crowd will be the perfect testers for this as they will be getting a new phone soon.

You don't have to use the v3 method, Knox support is still there, but we all saw how fast Samsung pulled Knox support when they wanted to

That is what we want for now. It will slowly expand, until general release
