Desperately trying to save my Note 7

I was luck enough not to get the final update which would have totaled the phone. I still got the 60% though.
Used package disabler before and other instructions and all was well until recently when the message keeps popping too frequently.
Need to get rid of it please anyone. I tried to download the shield app but I need 5 posts so that's no help right now.
Any ideas, thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

The 60% charging limit can be fixed by flashing the former firmware for the Note 7. However, it's important to get the correct files.
Which is your exact model number and firmware now? Since you are in the UK you probably have a SM-G930F.
The 100% firmware for this model is here:

You need ODIN v3.12.3 to flash. If succeeded, use Shield X to protect the Note from furher updates.

What happens if you connect to the pc via usb cable? Does the pc show an unknown device?

If you have connectivity problems, there are several possbilities to try:

- change USB mode from MTP to PTP / or from PTP to MTP
- try another computer or windows version (sometimes there are problems with Windows 10)
- try another usb port or cable

If you are not using the original cable, my money is the cable. To save a few pennies companies are making cables that charge only

You can make the 5 posts very easily, plenty of interesting topics and you should manage 5 in an afternoon very easily.
Shield is very good and you can use a firewall to block Samsungs updates as well, I used Netguard until got the Shield up and running.

Hi there,
Beowulf 381 gives instructions (post from Mon., dec. 12, 2016), how to keep safe the N 7 by downloading 100% Firmware, flashing with Odin V3 12.3, and installing shield X.
I have got the Version SM-N930F with buildnumber N930FXXU2.... my question: is the described way working for my advice too, still the actual one, and is shield X finished, or should I wait?
Can anybody out there please help me?

Thank you all, best Andy

Shield X is the current way to protect your Note from being upgraded. Since you just purchased it, should be comfortable for you doing a factory reset like described in the instructions.

However, solid explorer method will work too, if you prefer this one.
