Hi. I've performed your method for blocking the updates, tho i still have the intermittent suggestion and text from Samsung. I also have the "tap here to update" in my settings screen. Nether of those bother me; phone works great and I'm tickled. I have updates set to manual of course, and the Play store set to manual update for apps.

My question is why are some of my apps still updating without my permission? I'm afraid if this is still happening a forced kill update could possibly get thru, right?

I'll take one the next time an app updates without my permission. I also found beowulf's list of packages to disable, and will ensure I've all those disabled.
