I just joined and may not get to post 5 times to download the Alliance's Disabler, so I guess I have to stick with EZ for now (old version pre-update). As such, is there a list of apps i need to absolutely shut down to prevent the 0% update? My carrier is AT7T. I used a list I found online from another user after a loooong search online, but it was a while ago and I'm getting nervous. I really can't afford to lose my phone right now- so much of my work is on it- so any help is greatly appreciated.

At&t still charges me the same monthly amount on that 24 month plan. I haven't talked to them since I exchanged my original note 7 for the "safe" one. But I want to go in after the 5th and watch them wonder why my phone is still working just fine. Might get the s8, or if they don't disconnect the network access I will just wait till the note 8 comes out. I cracked my screen so I am hopping he last at least till the s8 comes out. I don't want to cough up $200 to repair it if I am going to turn it in.

It's easy to get to the 5 post mark. Just read a little and try and answer questions. It's a good way yo be active in the community. But, until then, I added a picture of packages to disable. It's best to get the sheild though. This should cover you in the meantime.

By using this program, does that mean the phone is "rooted"? If not, how do I go about doing that also? If im going to screw around with the software on this thing, I might as well go all the way!

No, this isn't a root. It's just a blocker.

No, there's no root for US phones yet (only a few from the first batch / white battery) w/o any update to the very first firmware are rootable).
And EZ disabler you can only use now if purchased in the past an didn't update it.

Now you can use the Alliance shield instead to be protected.

Well that's too bad. Thanks for the update. I'm blocked regardless now so AT&T can go bite me. Does anyone have a suggestion for a wifi tether router that will work on an unrooted phone? The only ones I know of need root permission. I haven't put it on my new phone out of respect for AT&T, But that deal is off.
