I rooted my SM-N910V by first unlocking the bootloader and then using TWRP to install SuperSu. If I flash android 5.1.1, which my SM-N910V had, into my SM-N930P, would I then be able to root it using the same process? And if it was rooted, could I then reinstall Marshmallow?

Thanks for your post. Made me realize I didnt unlock bootloader first. The guide I used didnt have that listed. It seems Sprint locked it recently I heard? I should have tried to root as soon as I got it. Once I try with my n930p Ill post results. Might be tomorrow though.

Rooting for snapdargon models of Note 7, like your SM-N930P, will ONLY work if it's from the first batch (white battery) without installing ANY firmware upadate released after the original stock rom version. The first update ever locked the bootloader. For now there's no solution for unlocking this again and so no root possible. Btw. an android 5.1.1 rom for the Note 7 wasn't available at all, first release already was marshmallow. Your SM-N910V rom will NOT fit.

beowulf381,
Thank you for this info. I was thinking that if you could root your note 7 then afterwards it would be easier to change the IMEI. I'm still worried that either Sprint and/or Samsung will block connectivity to their network based on your note 7's IMEI.
