Yup. Pretty much all package disablers were killed the same time *new* installs of Shield wouldn't work... Same thing happened to me. Folks here are recommending that you (quickly) do either/both of the Solid Explorer / ADB fixes. I've done Solid Explorer, and other than the Update Nag Screen Dialog, I've been protected from what they're trying to push.
If you're a VZW customer, there are worse issues, as Verizon is just randomly shutting people off... Anyway, they're still trying to get you with the updates, so recommend you at least to what I referenced above. Good luck and hang in there.

I never had the Shield. Do the ADB or Solid Explorer methods outlined on this site.
If you're Verizon like me, it can't stop them from just selectively shutting us down one by one, (hoping for some kind of solution!) but it will keep you alive long enough to fight another day. Hang in there and Good Luck.

Does this means all package disabler solutions are mow discontinued regardless of version or activation status?
Should we be looking for another dissabler or now that's a useless approach?

The biggest threat is IMEI-blocking.
I've implemented/tested an avoidance mechanism in Australia on my Telco and it appears to work...
N7A Admin have arranged for testing on the Verizon-network - no feedback yet.
I'm waiting on a flashable ROOTed ROM from N7A technical team as my Alliance Shield was setup last Tuesday immediately prior to Samsung withdrawing the Knox licence from Note 7 devices and I'm not game to make other changes until can safely root and flash for my current baseband N930FXXU2BPI5 model.
