So I've got a Note 7, hasn't been connected to a carrier since October, and wifi has been disconnected since then as well, I am wondering what would happen if I insert my ATT sim card in to the phone. Will ATT force me to install the mandatory update? Will it even activate on the network? Should I still be worried about the bricking if I use it on ATT?

I just don't want to risk it untill Shield v2 comes out.

I would follow the directions for the solid explorer method to block the update before you put in a sim. You can activate a sim card online manually and you used to be able to use 000000000000000 (thats fifteen 0's) as the imei ... and yes ATT is still pushing the update
