Crap... that can't be good. You're not using the Note 7 sim in the Note 3, are you? Even more interesting, is that they used the word, Mandatory for the first time that I am aware of...

Samsung push notification may only be based on one Samsung account for many phones...

I'm not sure what you mean? I do know that my husband has a note 5 on the same account as I am on, and I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab S and a Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 on this same account. That is four Samsung devices. And the only device I ever got that kind of a message on was my Note 7. Please explain further what you're thinking :-) my brain is a little slow tonight apparently LOL

I did use the SIM in the Note 3...

Ohhhh wait, just remembered, maybe because I modified the build.prop file in the Note 3 to make it say it was a Note 7! It doesn't change how it shows up to Verizon but it does change it for apps / play store. I was hoping it would flag my Note 3 with Verizon and I could call and complain they blocked my note 3 lol. Forgot I had messed around with it.

You crazy kid!!! "Pokin' the Bear, just Pokin' the Bear!", as my Daddy used to say... Yeah, you probably want to undo that!!! LOL Ya got your wish there... they got you flagged again, boy! But you did learn something... It was worth it!

Thanks Jason - it appears that Verizon is not only monitoring the IMEI but also other fields in the build.prop file too...

The lock is added as a 'feature' on phone numbers associated with a note 7. When i activated my note 3 i was still hotlined until a rep removed the hotline feature. I believe my note 7 would work again if i had an activated nanosim though i dont have one to test the theory.

Actually, I know that it does work... :-) the question is... How long is it going to work?

I had my note 7 shut down today. I have the alliance shield on but they rerouted all of my calls back to verizon's customer service. I had to reactivate my note 3 and they took the "hotline" off of my account. I am wondering if I turn my 7 back on if it will stay un-hotlined. Guessing they send another one at some point if I don't figure out how to make the IMEI look like a S7 Edge or something that is legit.

Unhotline it with the note 3, make sure everything works on the note 3 and then just reinstall the simple card back into the note 7. That's that the word going around states. Might get hotlined again in the future
