I received the message a few days ago, about the cutoff on Jan 31st, but, about an hour ago, an update was downloaded. I didn't click to update it. I have also used the blocks suggested from this website and everything was fine, up until about an hour ago. I don't know what to do.

Well, you're in the same boat as I am. I get the "Update is Ready to Install - Install Now / Install Later" Dialog. Is that what you're referring to?

Have you done the Solid Explorer procedure? If so, and if when you boot up your phone you see, "Unfortunately, Software Update has Failed" several times, you are supposedly safe. I just click Install later, and set the time for an hour earlier than the current time so it won't bother me for a day.

But, supposedly, when it does try to run, it will crash. That's my understanding. The nag dialog makes me nervous, too...

Anyone, correct me if I'm wrong!

Is it correct that every time my WLAN gets disconnected and connect again i get those “ software Update has failed“ pop ups or should i get them just after booting the Phone?

I think I only get them when I reboot because I am also using a firewall... every time your wifi comes on, it connects, tries to install and apparently fails. As long as you're seeing that failure message? I think that's a good thing.
Again, anyone out there, correct me if I'm wrong!

Good thing that it works yeah, but annoying that it always vibrates and no Message or anything :/
Which firewall do you use and what are you blocking with it? :)
