So I have the "System update ready to install" message and I still have a 100% charge.
Can I just download the: Ultimate Guide to Blocking Packages that cause 60% Battery Firmware or is it mandatory to download this too:

viewtopic.php?f=14&t=71

I just don't want to have to go through (two) different methods.

To get rid of the update already pushed to your device you should follow the guide you mentioned above first (What To Do If you Downloaded the 60% Battery Firmware But Have Not Yet Installed it Yet), then follow the Ultimate Guide to blocking packages...
Blocking packages just means preventing any updates being pushed to your phone, so for you it's the second step to do.

The reason is that the malicious update is just on your phone. If you ignore this, it' s only a matter of time that it will be installed.

So after I completed the last step on the ultimate guide where you open "DISABLE_ADB" I got this:

What did I do wrong?

Your phone and your computer are not communicating. Go to settings> developer options> USB configuration> select PTP
Your computer will config the drivers and your phone will ask you if it is okay to connect with that computer. Click allow.
Then do the same thing: Go to settings> developer options> USB configuration> but this time choose MTP.

Rerun the CMD file. It should work now.
