One of my note 7s got the 60percent battery update. So after flashing the old firmware I put the sim card in it shows up my carrier after I search but I cannot connect to it. Says unAble to connect? I tried resetting multiple times and trying to get it to work before installing the shield too. I checked my imei block list to see if it has been blocked it hasn't. Sim card works on my second note 7 that's unlocked. Anyone have any ideas on what to do? I've checked the apn also.

I'm with Rogers. When I search for a provider Rogers shows up but when I press to connect it tries then says unable to connect after a short time. But when I put it into my unlocked note it connects right away

Maybe they use acombunation of your SIM # and IMEI to block your Rogers service. Wouldn't trust the IMEI ckeck.
If SIM is working with another Note, your line is not blocked itself. The other Note is not on their list, so it works.

Do you have the possibilty to check with other sim card? Even if locked to rogers, maybe there are small carriers using Rogers infrastructure may work with this Note or at least try to check with a prepaid sim card from them, as this is not regsitered to you.

Update. So I put in another Rogers sim and still can't connect to the network. It shows up when I search for it but when I try it says unable to connect try later. I've used a bunch of imei check sites and it says it's not black listed. My question is did I do something wrong using odin to flash stock firmware back on that could be blocking the service? Or is my imei actually blocked? Is this what happens when your imei gets blocked you can still see the network just can't connect?? Thanks for any help guys :)

Hey I'm with Verizon. I flashed the ph but I can only receive incoming in wifi. No outgoing ph, or data in wifi or on network. I will try flashing again as well

I can't make any WiFi calls. But I use my Pixel for that. Any data that you don't use with Google Fi, they refund any unused data on your next bill. Love it

I'm going to hazard a semi-educated guess and say you have something else going on. I say this because the Verizon hotlining in the United States would let you connect to the network, it just intercepted your outgoing calls and routed them to customer service. You had to be connected to the network to get re-routed to customer service. However, the blocking methods may be different in Canada, I don't know. I hope this helps a little.

I'm just curious... at least here in the states, my current understanding is that all phones are "supposed to" at least be able to make emergency calls. Now, when I turn on my phone, I can make an emergency call from the home screen, for example. Do you even see that? I wonder because maybe you actually "are" connected to that network, but hotlining/blacklisting/whatever is not giving you anything other than the ability to make an emergency call.

I wish there were some way to test that theory without making an emergency call? But it would at least tell you if the problem was with the phone... I dont know. Hopefully someone smarter than I will have an idea for you. It is weird... can you swap sims with other working phones or anything?

Don't do it! Everyone whom I know that switched, hated their phones afterwards. Keep holding on. The Alliance will find a way!
