Ok, I am new to this group and forums, but wanted to ask a few questions.

I have the "green battery" Note 7 from Verizon and can currently still charge to 100%. I have had the 60% update downloaded but never installed it. I didn't want to factory reset my phone, so I followed the steps in this Post: https://note7alliance.com/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=30 ([UPDATED: 12.3.16]: Ultimate Guide to Blocking Packages That Causes 60% Battery Firmware (All Models))
and it seemed to work.

and then I went to this post
https://note7alliance.com/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=133 (Disable Samsung updates with S Package Disabler, working for all no rooted models)
I don't have any of the "packages" listed in this post, but I DID disable:
com.samsung.sdm
com.samsung.sdm.sdmviewer

This got the update notification to go away! YAY, those were so annoying!

SO my first quesition is, IS this all I need to do to block updates?
Second question is, will these steps block the bricking update that is supposed to take place on Jan 5th?

and does anyone have any other tips I might need to follow?

THANKS so much for your guys help!

Go to the forum thread below and scroll down to the long list of packages to disable in the black screen shot. I was looking for the same thing.

I think by following those steps on the computer, that script disables all those packages in that black screen shot, right? So that's why I am unable to find them in S Package Disabler, right?

I do wonder why these scripts and guides don't mention "com.samsung.sdm" though. That was the important one on my Note 7 that turned off the update notifications. And now with that package disabled, settings crashes when I click on system updates. Which I think is good right?

There are a lot of different versions of the Note 7, so some people have one with several packages relevant for the updates, while others don't have them but others instead.
My note for example doesn't have this package. So we can just collect and share information which packages are relevant for which model / provider / ROM to refine our recommendations.

When you run the ADB script, it makes your Note 7 believe that those packages have been completely uninstalled. That is why when you try to find it does not show up on package disabler app.

In the Note 7 Update Blocker 2.0 (i updated this file in the original tutorial last night) I re-enable the following packages. Your Verizon phone should still be protected again the updates with the remaining packages that are blocked.

Samsung Push (So you can connect with Samsung Gear and other accessories)
com.sec.spp.push
com.sec.android.app.apexcom.sec.spp.push
com.samsung.android.app.accesscontrol

Device Manager (so that you can optimize your Note 7s performance)
com.google.android.configupdater
com.samsung.android.sm
com.samsung.sdm.sdmviewer

It's too bad we don't get access to device manager on the Verizon Note 7
