Would it b possible to jus do a factory reset then run this blocker

A factory reset wont clear or remove the update you have to replace the firmware and then block the update form your phone

Does your Battery still charge to 100%?
If so, you can get rid of firmware you downloaded through a factory reset.
If your battery only charges to 60% then doing a factory reset will not help bring your batter back to 100%.
