Has this worked to block the update on other carriers that have already pushed? I'm a Verizon customer so my time is coming and I haven't done anything yet.

The only thing I'd be worried about is getting the T-mobile update, I really don't like the idea of disabling any protection even if it's for a minute or two.Lea wrote:3280 No it's not in the play store - you have to go to the Alliance Shield forum on the homepage and download the app. Watch the YouTube video attached to the forum, its a very clear step-by-step on how to enable the shield. It's also a good idea to disable your package disabler first.

So thankful to have found this site! I really didn't want to turn in my note. It looked like it installed, but just need the 5 posts. Does anyone know how it keeps the update from happening? It doesn't change the way Verizon sees the phone, does it? Thanks again!

Hello Everybody,
Thank you for being a valued member.
To go over a few FAQs as per your comments I will start with:
We built the Shield as a more secure way of blocking the up coming updates. While we built this app our older method secured everyone and restored users back to 100%. Although it is not REQUIRED that you use the shield to -ensure- safety from upcoming kill switches, it is however recommended. Either way, it is your choice and we want you to just be comfortable with where your phone is at and able to use it as normal.
About the 5-post count minimum: This is a social experiment that I believe will prove successful. The more people that give the forum a chance may find out they like it more and see that it's easier to refer to posts and engage with people with same interests. It's very hard to keep track of the thousands of notifications a day and posts being lost in the abyss of the Facebook group, especially as we grow. It's much easier for us to engage with you guys on the website, which is why we built it. If you don't like the forum experience through the browser and like the feel of the 'fb-social media like experience' download 'Tapatalk App' for forums and follow 'N7 Alliance' and post that way. Usually people who do not like the forum one way prefer the latter and then enjoy it.
It is recommended that you reverse your current abd script and reset (which we've outlined in a tutorial) and use only the shield (which also duals as a package disabler, should you want to disable other stuff); sometimes there are conflicts with other package disablers as well as packages not showing in the shield because of our previously used abd script to hide them. Again, same thing applies to this- it is not required to ensure safety however it is recommended.
If you have any further questions or issues please post a question in the support ticket in the "Alliance Shield" section.
Regards,
N7A Management

I just installed the sheild. Im a bit hesitant to do the testing part though, lol, im willing to trust you guys on blind faith.
Couple questions. I only did this new sheild, none of the older methods. Do i have to do anything else in conjuction with the new sheild? Also will it block the pushed update notifications from popping up? Theyre just really irritating. And lastly is there a way to block the txt msgs we keep getting from verizon about returning the phones? Thanks!

It was very easy to install the Alliance Shield, especially with the video. I won't be sure if it works until January 7 when Sprint begins sending out their update. I didn't know before downloading that you would also be able to disable bloatware with the Shield. I noticed that the bloatware before being disabled has a green background. After disabling any bloatware, this background turns red, but then turns back green briefly before turning red once again. I noticed when I checked on my list of disabled bloatware about 1 hour after I disabled them.
