I plan to take an airplane trip soon. Since I am not able to take my Note 7 on the plane, I plan to activate my Note 4.

When I return, do you think I will be able to reactivate my Note 7.

Thank you for a great website.

You should be able to just move the sim card between the two phones. No activation. What carrier?

Verizon is the carrier. The problem is that the SIM card in the Note 7 is a smaller card than in the Note 4.

You can call Verizon and they will send you a SIM Card for the Note 4 for free. This might be the easiest way for you then go on their website and re-activate your Note7 once you are back from your Trip. Or just Ship your Note7 to your destination.

so I just went thru this -I took my sims card and placed it in a iPhone 5c for my flight and once I got home switched it back the note 7 no problems . I wanted to avoid contact with Verizon as I wasnt sure if they would reactivate my sims card for note7- you need a SIM card adaptor look on amazon

Wait so you can swap sim cards and just like that you have a different phone? I was under the impression you had to do the swap at your local wireless provider? I have a Note 4 as well, can I just use the sim adapter and swap them back and forth, no problem? This is a great tool to have in case the 7 gets blocked or something and buys you time to try to get it back while you run the back up phone. I'm with AT&T.

Yes, you can just swap sims to whichever phone you want. I have 3 phones for Verizon and do it all the time. ATT is the same they just have to be GSM or CDMA is the difference. Also, the adapters work for older phones. Just be careful not to push it in too far as they are known to get stuck. You may need a tool to remove it again.
