I got the update around 12 last night and now I can't charge it anymore. Is there a way I can remove it and install the n7 alliance app? I was going to install the app but I just found it a few days ago and between over time at work and sleep I just haven't had the time. Is there any way I can fix my note 7? My career is verizon.

Really you got hit last night with the Verizon update again I thought too it was coming on the 5th? where do you live mate I am in the US but on the east coast and I don't think the update came out last night. Cuz I am too on Verizon! unless the shield! WORKED LIKE A CHARM! AND I DID NOT NOTICE HAHAHAHAHA! POWER TO THE SHIELD! Well I will find out tonight at mid night my time if this is true. I heard of someone else who get brick on the fb page and she was working with one of the N7 team members on figuring how to correct this issue! I am sure if you wait a few days someone else would run into this issue... Sorry for your lost mate I hope you get your best phone ever fix!

We had some one on tmobile have this same issue. I believe they were able to roll back to a previous firmware and then install the sheild app.
Instructions and firmware can be located here. It says for 60% update, but it should work all the same. If you need help, just ask here in this thread, ill check back.

Whoa, This is already rolling out? I've been dodging the 60% update by simply ignoring the notifications but am interested to see how this plays out as I haven't ever had an automatic update that skips a prompt.

I am doing the same thing and just chatted with a Verizon employee. She informed me the update will not install automatically so long as we have automatic updates, i.e. I do not think it will be a forced update.....yet.

From my understanding you can only defer the update for a limited amount of time before it installs itself. If you've been hit with the update, you need to follow the tutorial to get back to 100%. viewtopic.php?f=14&t=6

If you have the update already on the phone but not yet installed, you need to flash to stock. viewtopic.php?f=14&t=71

And anyone who wants to protect themselves from future updates need to install the shield.

I had the update for the 60% I guess download but it was just waiting for me to install. So does that mean i have to run the OTA? I didn't do any of that. I went straight to the shield install and my notification for the 60% update went away. So does that mean I am safe? I did check by clicking on the system update button but it wouldn't let me lol please if a mod is on clarify this.

I would follow the second link @NCqTee has posted above. That will erase the 60% dl from your phone, and bring you back to stock. I would back up data first. Then reinstall the shield app after that's all said and done.

I did the Shield last night, not knowing that it wouldn't get rid of the 60% limitation. I am now trying to go back and remove the 60% limit. Am I understanding correctly that once I've done that I'll have to reinstall the Shield?

Yup, that's all you need. Flashed mine a couple times, so I'm here if you need to ask any questions. But, yeah, flash it back to stock, reinstall the shield app, set it up. And you're good to go.

I am still at 100% I never installed the 60% limitation download that was why I just went to the shield app. I didnt really have to roll back to the 100% lol Once I install the shield the install went away so i figure I was safe....

Auuugh.... guess what, when I went to dump pdp, the update installed. Still at 100% & the updated is lingering in the notification bar. So a total reflash or just uninstall the shield & reinstall?
Thanks!
Ps: sorry to trail in on kcharn2's post, but I couldn't update mine since it's closed.
Thanks!
