As per title I am owning a SM-N930FD (first batch) and I apparently cannot get rid of the 60-80% battery limit no matter how many tutorials (yours and XDA's) I try.

Is this as it has to be with Exynos devices or what?

What is sure is that I CANNOT downgrade or revert.
Packages also were disabled, but I still get the 60% warning popup (although I can then go into Settings and arise the limit to 80%).

Root or nothing? :(

Hello,

The only way now to get back 100% battery on N930F/FD is to install a custom rom like hydra rom. Tuto is on xda forum.

Rooting is the last and only solution then.

I will keep the 80% limit then as I need KNOX not tripped.

and as I've not looked into the process my self, I'll assume there's been no way around unlocking the boot loader thus far?

I don't want to 'cause that would mean KNOX tripped (aka no NFC payment service working anymore). ;)

You should look into possibly rooting with TowelRoot (which I believe may not trip Knox) where as rooting with CF-Root will trip the Knox and make things not work correctly.

I am not 100% sure, but at today there should be no rooting method that allows not to trip KNOX on latest Samsung devices (S6, S7, Note7, etc.). :?

Interesting. Well, look into TowelRoot. Some resources I've read say that TowelRoot allows Exynos versions unlock without disabling Knox.
