First off this site rocks, you guys and gals are keeping it alive. Thanks...

I just flashed my firmware and it went super smooth, got my battery back BUT before I could disable apps with s package disabler I got hit with that update. I didn't install, but I'm guessing since its there it ain't leaving. My question is what app should I disable right away to buy me a few more minutes to turn the rest off ? The app wouldn't let me shut down apps in air plane mode

I also wanted to know if there is a way to restore the battery from 60% back to 100%

Hello,

Dreading the 'death' update and I came here looking for the "S Package Disabler" apk because it says it is not available in the Play Store in my country (US). I have "Package Disabler Pro," but hear it no longer works.

Started reading the tutorial guides and I think the linked thread is the one to follow to block new/future updates correct? However, it doesn't mention downloading any disablers, only to reenable all packages if I do have one. Is this all I'll need to block the upcoming death update?

On T-Mobile and still have 100% battery. I never downloaded the previous 60% update, but I do have a notice in settings TO download it ("Software update: Tap here to update the firmware to the latest version and use the latest features.") <~~ it's a trick!

The update is scheduled for 12/27 for T-Mobile.

Thank you guys and gals for everything you do!

I heard people said the package disabler pro 6.3 (the one before developer can effectively disable Samsung update) no longerworks. So I urgently downloaded and installed S package from here. It seems all the "disabled" listings are stll remaining disabled.

Do I need to uninstall Package disabler pro now or I can keep both of them in my phone (am getting a bit paranoid)...

Thank you guys who worked and contributed in this forum.

Package disabler pro 6.3 doesn't work only if updated to newer version. So it's important to deactivate updating in play store.

Normally there is no advantage to have 2 different package disablers on one device. But if you have a working pdp 6.3 you can stay with it. But take care, If you uninstall this, it will activate all disabled packages. If you choose to do so, first go to airplane mode or disable wifi and mobile data / remove sim. Oherwise the update will be pushed!

However, the 2 package disablers should be able to co-exist, as long as you don't try to open both together.

I don't know if PDP 6.3 will "phone home" if opened and void its own license in the future. That's why I use an additional firewall to refuse any internet access for PDP 6.3. Also you can suspend internet access before opening it.

Okay, so first time on these forums, but the recent posting from the madhouse note7 reddit prompted me to fly over here in a slight panic. Posts saying that Package Disabler Pro 6.3 no longer works. Like I said, in a slight panic, I opened up the app, but everything ran like normal. No messages about it no longer working, or invalid license, granted it's a cracked version, and my playstore auto update is off. So the major question (One I'm sure people have undoubtedly answered before) Would I be safe for the duration of the N7 life cycle? Should I download the apk just incase?

Would say for now you are safe, but who can look into the future so far? lol
As long as you don't update or uninstall the PDP 6.3 it should work as long as you like. The only possibility to end function can be that the developer has built in a hard coded expiration date for the version or if it is not updated within a certain time... There are no reports about this so far. To store apk's is a good idea, but i'm afraid you won't get the license activated if you had to install at a later time.

Maybe PDP tries to "phone home" sometimes so look if there's an update and voids activation then, so it's a good idea to block internet access for it before you open.
I use an additional firewall for this and also for other "curious" apps that want to communicate too much.

You could also suspend wifi and mobile data before opening it to be more safe from being surprised.

If so do I not need pdp after I successfully complete them? Great site! I Love my note7 and gear s3 no one is breaking up their marriage!

I have PDP as well and everything seems to be fine (never got the 60% update, etc). I just installed S Package Disabler on top as well, but I noticed that some of the packages aren't listed when I search for them, but DO show up when I look at the disabled packages--- I assume that's because they are currently being disabled by PDP.

If I uninstall PDP, in theory, all those disabled packages should reenable and I'll have the option to disable them again with S Package Disabler, correct?

Just be sure to go into airplane mode/turn off wifi before uninstalling and any updates are pushed right?

If you have a workng PDP there's no reason to tamper with. To have an additional safety level you could suspend internet access before opening it or install an extra firewall.

But if you like to, normally it should work the way you suggested. But as there are so many different note 7 subtypes (even with same model number and provider), who knows? There are reports from some people that s package disabler standalone worked, for others it didn't and they needed another method too like ADB.

Personally I wouldn't change.
