I found a how to on this forum using the solid explorer package to block any over the air update from Samsung and tmobile.will this method also block the update scheduled to come on December 19 that is said to completely disable note 7 from charging

Yes, as long as you followed the how to and it is working then you will be safe from the kill update, or any update in the future.

You will know it is working because when Samsung tries to push an update to your phone, it fails. Has that happened to you yet?

It says unfortunately software update has stopped
When does that appear?
If that happens after you click on Software Updates then you are good.

When I hit update now when I hit update software it don't even go into searching for the update

Where it says tap here to update software to the latest firmware when I tap it now it don't do anything

That means the packages have been disabled and it won't install the update. You are safe
