Can someone point me im the direction I need to possibly back up my phone with its current firmware so that I may try a different at&t firmware?

Are you trying to extract your firmware? or just back up your data?

I was hoping to exrract it. In case the firmware I switch to doesnt work out.... I'd like to be able to put my phone back to its original factory settings with its own firmware. Is that possible?

I don't know how to do that. i went to a factory repair shop and paid for them to do it for me.
