I have installed alliance shield v1 and activated it but I cannot remove this software update notification. Is there anything else I need to do to remove it?

Alliance Shield ver 1 can not installed any longer. You need to read up and properly install Alliance Shield ver 2.

Tried shield ver 2 but the result is the same. Seems it updated some packages but the update notification is still there in settings and the app drawer.

The update is already downloaded to your device, but can't install as you are protected by shield. So it's only a bit annoying....

To get rid of this, you've to factory reset your phone. But take care, your protection is gone too this way. So if you decide to factory reset,
you have to follow the steps to install shield V2 and get protected again (shield V1 won't work after reset and you loose ability to disable / enable individual packes).

Or you wait until shield V3 is finished.

That's unfortunate... Samsung and their annoying forced updates. Guess I will have to live with this annoying notification for a while until v3 is finished.

Thanks for the response.

Shield v3 is in Beta right now. If you have preordered the Samsung Galaxy s8 and would like to become a Beta tester, email proof of order to @RRiVEN at [email protected]. Anyone that has preordered the Galaxy s8 is eligible to become a Beta Tester. Just make sure you send proof of purchase to [email protected]. Enjoy :)

You could always roll back your firmware to get rid of this. Thats what i did when i got stuck with the 60% batter and popups.
