Hi,

I'm a noob to this rooting process and would need some help to confirm the following:

1. If i want the batt to remain at 60% but block future updates (mainly the one that stop charging at 0%, do i do this ONLY:

To prevent the firmware update from happening again go to this post:
FIRST DO THIS:
Ultimate Guide to Blocking Packages That Causes 60% Battery Firmware (All Models)
THEN DO THIS:
Disable Samsung updates with S Package Disabler, working for all no rooted models
YOU HAVE TO DO BOTH

2. After doing the above 2, how would i know its done deal? & that i wouldnt receive anymore updates esp the one on 0%?

Thank you & any advise would be appreciated!!

p/s: i own a 930FD

As long as the application gives you the "ALL DONE" message at the end, you are protected. This is not rooting the phone, just blocking packages that the update uses. Can I ask out of curiosity, why do you want to leave battery at 60%?

Hey, thanks for the reply. So the 2 steps are enough to block OTA , I needn't root the phone right? Because my phone gets rather hot when it goes to 70%+ charge, so I rather it stays at 60%. ;)
Moreover I read that 930FD snapdragon is rather tough to root, i might accidentally brick the phone ?

Using fast charging will get the phone warm to got. You can disable fast charge and do normal charging. That might get you to 100% without getting your phone hot. The only caveat is that it will not fast charge. N930FDs are Exynos. 930FDs are the only ones that can be rooted with a custom rom

And as always, the disclaimer is that you there is always a chance to brick our phone if we are doing something Samsung did not intend us to do

Thanks for all the great advise guys! I've just followed the procedures & blocked all the updates and fingers crossed, it refuses the 28th Dec's update!
