My note 7 is currently on the N930tuvu2api4 firmware and has the battery that reaches to 100%. Im assuming i can skip the odin steps and go straight to blocking the updates?

Yup, if your phone charges to 100%. Go ahead and follow the instructions to download the sheild app, and set it up. You should be good to go.
