Hi

I posted a message already and got a message responce, but the message was blank?!. Im new to forums so please forgive my ignorance. I came here because I am down to 30% battery life and I have until the 31/1/17 to try and fix my note7. Is there anyone who could help me please? Also if possible could i get back 100% battery life? I have also never rooted before, but i have looked at a couple of videos on youtube and read a few websites. My device model is SM-N930F im from the uk. Any help would be appreciated thanks.

You can go this way with installing custom recovery first, then root, then installing custom rom:

https://forum.xda-developers.com/note-7 ... 0-t3447611

This will also bring 100% charging back.

Hi
I'm not sure that I follow you. If I follow three instructions in the link, do I still have to do other things also. I am a complete beginner. So I still don't get a lot of things

I bought one of these wireless external battery packs - this should help you, as it leaves the USB-C port open in the bottom of your Note 7. You can then plug in a charger to the external battery pack's charging port, and *hopefully* the wireless charging connection will remain active while you're rooting your phone.
worth a shot!

@smithmccaulsky

If you followed instruction 1-3 in the link, you just achieved custom recovery. Then you have to follow all the other steps too.
Make sure that you reboot into custom recovery (TWRP).
To remove the charging limit, choose Hydra Kernel later in installer (not stock kernel).

Never tried it with 30% charge, but would recommend to charge up to the 30, anf then during installation you have to be connected to your pc usb port, so it has usb power during the process of getting root and installing Hydra ROM.

Ok I got you up until you said to reboot into custom recovery (TWRP). What is that, and how do I do it? Or is it all on the list? What do you mean when choosing hydra kernel? Sorry I must be annoying but have no clue at all.

You should read the instructions at XDA carefully ^^

In step 3 there is a link to TWRP, for your convenience I'll link it below:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/note-7 ... 7-t3446047

Without installing TWRP first nothing will work for sure!
After rebooting to TWRP you've to follow all the steps to get root, and AFTER this you can install custom rom, like Hydra.
There will be an installer that let you choose which kernel you want to install (do not choose stock kernel, but Hydra kernel instead).
because the charging limit is in (stock) kernel.
